Originally called Spider Web Blues, my students never really liked the name. So now it is Taxi Cab Blues. Can you hear the horn? This is another piece where fingering really comes into play so I would recommend taking time to experiment with different fingerings and coming up with the one that works best before writing it in. Mapping out the seconds before putting them on the keyboard is quite helpful, especially if you teach this as a reading based piece. The music can look a bit intimidating to early readers so taking time to break it apart and break it down into manageable chunks and patterns can help students have an 'aha!' moment and reinforce that a piece of music that looks hard isn't necessarily too hard to learn to play if they break it down and look for patterns or whatever else is happening in the piece.
